Last week, I went to the gym at a time that I normally don't. Turns out, there was a reason.

I caught an episode of Shark Tank on the treadmill TV and saw a struggling entrepreneur share a motivational quote from his late father. It was so good that I grabbed my phone and jotted it down: "Life's short. Don't wait. Take the shot."

I hope my latest news will also encourage you. Dog at the Tinsel Tree: Susie's Story has won its 15th and 16th book awards! The 15th was as a "Finalist" in the Gift Book category of the Christian Indie Book Awards contest. The awards ceremony will take place in March where I'll find out how it placed.

The next award is a huge and exciting surprise. Dog at the Tinsel Tree placed in three categories of the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards contest: First in the Gift Book category, Second in the Holiday category, and Honorable Mention in the Animals/Pets category. This award is the first "first" my dog book has received. Kinda made my day.

Since I took my shot (it'll be seven years ago next month) at giving this book-writing thing a full-time go, I cannot believe how my life has changed. I want that for you, too. Whatever it is that you dream about doing, please, don't wait. Do it this year...take the shot!
